About the Gallery

Through experiences of crisis, personal or collective, there is art. There must be art.

One early morning in April 2020, in the unique quiet that is a global pandemic lockdown, the whispering sketches in the multitude of notebooks belonging to artist Randal Gordy Lee became insistently audible, and as usual he started to express himself through his art work, as he has done all through his life. The coffee table and kitchen counter became drawing tables, and the compact living room space soon overflowed with paintings and drawings. Much more space was sought after, and found.

The studio/gallery reflects where he is now in that narrative. In just a few short months, it is now open and housing an exhibition of visually compelling large scale oil paintings, brilliant in colour and story. There is a collection of over forty finely detailed ink works, all of which planned to become finished paintings. And, a working studio space to witness the ongoing creation by the artist.

The effects of the pandemic continue to devastate human health and enterprise. Creating is necessity, not simply distraction. The studio/gallery is not only filled with beautiful work: it is filled with discipline, perseverance and dreams.

Starting in January 2021 RGLgalleries will be booking virtual gallery/studio zoom tours.
